Alan Polinsky, AIA

President

Alan Polinsky has been engaged in the field of computer graphics, computer aided design, and information technology for more than 30 years. He has conducted research on interactive modeling techniques, rendering, and design systems; implemented a variety of hardware and software applications in a design and production environment; and managed large-scale networked systems.

Alan received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1984. His research fellowship at Cornell University from 1984 to 1986 culminated in a thesis titled “A Unified Interactive Geometric Modeling System for Simulating Highly Complex Environments,” for which he received a Master of Science in Computer Graphics. During his fellowship, Alan also served as a teaching assistant for a variety of undergraduate architecture courses. His research in computer graphics has been published in several journals, including Architectural Record (September 1984), Knowledge Engineering and Computer Modelling in CAD (December 1986), and Metropolis (March 2002).

In 1986 Alan joined the firm of Fox & Fowle Architects. As director of computer services, he had complete responsibility for the design, implementation, and management of a 100-node local area network, integrating CAD, administration, marketing, and financial applications. He also served as project architect on several major design projects. He has managed the production of drawings and administered the construction of a 400,000-square-foot building renovation, converting a Manhattan department store into a major commercial office space. He was named an associate in 1991, participating with senior management in the administration of the firm, including staffing projections and assignments, budget analysis, and new business development.

In 1992 Alan formed AP3D Consulting.

A registered architect in the State of New York, Alan is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Association of Computing Machinery/SIGGRAPH, and the Autodesk Developer Network.

Chaim Zeitz

Senior Consultant / Vice President

Chaim Zeitz became involved with computer graphics at Cornell University more than 10 years ago. Since then he has been focused on the integration of computer graphics tools into the architectural design and production process.

Chaim received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1991, and completed a Master of Architecture degree there in 1992. While conducting research for his Master’s design thesis, he served as a teaching assistant for various architectural technology courses and tested software developed by Cornell University’s Program of Computer Graphics.

After graduating, Chaim worked at a variety of firms, both as an architect and as director of computer services, most notably Pei Partnership Architects in New York and Hilton VanderHorn Architects in Greenwich, Connecticut. His experience as a CAD manager cuts across building types, including residential, commercial, retail, medical, institutional, and high-tech facilities. He has also taught AutoCAD and 3D modeling and rendering.

In May 2000 Chaim joined AP3D Consulting, providing CAD system hardware and software support for several major architecture firms. He also provides instruction for streamlining the workflow for presentation drawings, 3D models, and 3D rendering. Chaim specializes in teaching designers how to harness the vast and complex computer graphics tools available to them to enhance their design process.

Kenneth Louie

Senior Consultant / Vice President

Kenneth Louie received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1993 from Pratt Institute, where he first became involved with computer systems and CAD technology.

Following graduation, Kenneth brought his CAD skills to a variety of firms throughout the New York area, including A/R Architects LLP and A/R Environetics Group. As a project architect at A/R, he worked on a number of design projects ranging from retail shops to commercial facilities, providing technology room drawings for such clients as Nomura Securities and Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner facilities. In addition to his duties as a project architect, Kenneth also provided computer systems and CAD support for A/R’s office.

After working as an architect for eight years, Kenneth joined AP3D Consulting in June 2000, providing systems, software, and hardware support for several major architectural firms. During his time with AP3D, he has contributed to a growing clientele list extending to various industries. His work places a heavy emphasis on PC hardware and software support, networking, and security. With Kenneth’s vast knowledge of architecture and technology, he possesses a stable and practical hand coupled with unique insights to fully understand and meet the needs of all his clients.
